have been a realtor for many years now with ERA Real Estate Professionals. It

graduating I joined the US Navy and began a career as a Navy Hospital Corpsman.

member of the VFW I served as the Post Surgeon for many years.  I have two
children and two grandchildren all who make their homes in Virginia Beach. In

Originally from the mountains of Virginia I  settled in the Tidewater region after travelling extensively as a military wife. My residence in this region began in December of 1989. My employment background is customer service. Namely, restaurant management. Anyone in the industry knows that this is similar to daycare and alligator wrestling rolled into one. My philosophy in life is what you can't laugh about, may kill you. I consider myself patient and diligent, priding myself in accomplishing goals. The main objective, when I entered Real Estate, was to simply earn a living providing a service. I found that within the property management department here at ERA Real Estate Professionals. Now, I find great joy in finding the perfect home or buyer for my clients. Nothing is more satisfying than creating calm in the seemingly, overwhelming home market. Here at ERA Real Estate Professionals, there is always a helpful agent or staff with answers or sources to any, out of the ordinary, situation that may arise. 

My personal life is busy and happy. Our home is filled with 6 members ranging in the ages of 18-83.  My husband immigrated to the country in 1974 and enlisted into the military soon after. Upon gaining his college diploma, he re-entered the Navy and retired as a Commander 9 years ago. The oldest member of our abode is the most loved, Lola. The precious grandmother to our children and my beloved mother-in-law. I am lucky to say I have the best Mother-in-Law there is. My husband and I have our last 3 children at home. The two eldest children have already entered their career choice but our nest is nurturing the last 3. 2 are post-graduate students. One will be entering the field of Occupational Therapy soon and the other will join forces in the accounting field. WOOHOO, one more to go! Our youngest graduates from High School this June and will enter college in the fall. 

I look forward to each adventure that life will offer and plan never to retire. Hopefully, I will enter the Smucker's Jar hall as fame and be known as the oldest, living Realtor. No matter where my career may lead me the joy of participating in the first time home buy will never dissipate. I strive to be patient and kind to whomever God sends my way and will always be resourceful continuing to soak in the knowledge of my colleagues and friends and field of work.

married Mark in 2005, who retired, after 27 years of honorable service, in
November 2011 as a Naval Officer at Naval Base Norfolk. I am a proud stepmother
to Hunter. When I am not selling real estate, you will find me spending time
with my family or friends, boating, photography, watching sports or traveling.

I enjoy
volunteering at my stepson’s schools, Fairfield Elementary and Ocean Lakes High
School in VA Beach. I was Room Parent, Chairperson for the Book Fair and Editor
of the PTA monthly newsletter. I was also Team Mom for baseball and helping
coordinate various events associated with the local youth leagues. Both my
husband and I volunteer at Oceanfront festivals such as the Boardwalk Art Show,
ECSC & The Neptune Festival.

We
proudly support Friends of VA Beach Animal Control, where we find homes for

Debbie is a calm, grace-under-pressure real estate professional who believes in facing challenges head on. Debbie has seen the market's highs and lows and learned there is a way through all of it since being licensed in 2008 and becoming a managing broker in 2014.

The real estate market crashed just before Debbie became licensed. Even in a down market, she earned Rookie of the Year her first year. Debbie received a Communications degree with a minor in marketing from ODU and after spending 10 years in advertising sales for the Virginian Pilot, and taking a break to raise children, Debbie knew she found a career that would use her education and experience in sales and marketing as well as her desire to serve and help people. As an agent she used that motivation to help her clients achieve their real estate goals. 

Some of Debbie's problem-solving resilience was developed in her growing years as a military child. Debbie was born in Germany and  moved 12 times by the time she reached her senior year of high school. She attended 3 different high schools. But with a supportive family and a mom who taught her that home is where you make it, Debbie came out with an inner strength that has stood the tests of life. Throughout those years the Army made Virginia Debbie's home three times. It is no wonder that Debbie came to settle here. Debbie shares 5 children with her husband Ralph. They have a sweet black hound dog Dixie and a crazy black cat Cairo, both rescues who play and fight like siblings. Debbie pours herself into other people in every way she finds a need. To unwind, Debbie loves to spend time with family, read and sew.
